Who Are We?
The goal of OurEnergyPolicy.org is to provide expert input into the development of U.S. energy policy through a broad-based, non-partisan, substantive dialogue that can serve as a resource to policy makers, the media, and the American people.
A "straw man" set of propositions regarding U.S. energy policy - written solely to stimulate discussion - is organized by Topic area on this Web site (you can also download it). The various propositions, and the policy document as a whole, do not reflect the views of Our Energy Policy Foundation, our Partners, Topic Directors, Experts, or any individual or organization. The text is provided only for the purpose of generating a vigorous, substantive dialogue among our nation's experts. The discussion process is facilitated by new advanced community software that allows users to initiate the dialogue by highlighting any word, phrase, section or idea of the document.
The goal is for every energy expert in the country to participate together in the dialogue: Scientists, energy companies (oil, gas, utilities, coal, ethanol, etc.), energy think tanks, climate change organizations, environmental organizations, energy security, government policy makers, legislators, etc.
The ongoing, robust exchange will lead to better-informed and more effective U.S. energy policies by identifying areas of consensus, by sharpening the points of difference, by exposing misleading or inaccurate factual assertions, and by stimulating innovative solutions.
