Richard Polich (Professional Engineer) has over 30 years’ experience as an energy industry leader, combining his business and technical expertise in the management of governmental, industrial and utility projects. He has worked extensively in energy efficiency, nuclear, coal, IGCC, natural gas and green/renewable generation. Mr. Polich has developed renewable projects in wind, solar, and biomass in Africa, Australia, Canada, South American and the United States. He has also provided on-site technical and engineering expertise for nuclear and fossil power generation.

Mr. Polich has managed the development of over 2,000 MW of coal gasification combined cycle projects, 1,200 MW of gas combined cycle projects, 1,800 MW of wind generation projects and 3,000 MW of solar energy projects. While in this role, Mr. Polich was responsible for developing project costs, assessing project economics, purchasing components, obtaining engineering, procurement and construction contracts, and securing project financing.

Recent experience in the solar energy industry includes working on both photovoltaic and thermal solar projects with a wide range of clients that extended to developers, equipment suppliers/manufacturers, financers and regulators. Mr. Polich has in-depth knowledge of the technical and financial due diligence required of solar thermal projects. His broad understanding of working with EPC contractors provides the ability to effectively identify and obtain the information necessary to assess the performance of EPC Contractors. Mr. Polich has two engineering degrees, one in Nuclear Engineering and one in Mechanical Engineering, and a Masters of Business Administration, all from the University of Michigan. He is also a registered Professional Engineer.
